Long weekend

Had a very long weekend. Had been to my wifeys office for family day on Thursday and got to meet asim, who offered me to join their football group. Although an holiday, friday was very boring but enjoyed my time with kiddo. Started early on saturday and was on FC ground at 7am. These guys turned up late and started playing at 8am. Didnt do the ... See Morewarm-up thinking of conversing energy :) Started with scoring the very first goal and with lot of spirit as I was playing for the first time in pune after a really long break. But then lost on stamina and retreated back as goalie. By 9:30, was fully exhausted and took break for water. Sunday was more fun as we decided to visit my in-laws. For lunch, had nice fish fry but was not able to suff much as it was too late. Luckily got to play box-cricket after a very long time. There was this bet of "pepsi for all" wherein loser has to pay the bill. Played couple of games and had a great time. Recalled my engg days where ...
वाढदिवसाच्या हार्दिक शुभेच्छा! Heres how todays day started for me: 1. Had planned to drop my brother to shivajinagar at 7am. Though had set up 3-4 alarms , never woke up until 8am! 2. Started for office at 9:45am, thinking that i can return by 5pm. went to bikaner sweets wala , but no sooner i started my bike, the compressor went off. couldnt start my bike again. had to drag it back to rahul automobiles, almost 2kms. the road is on side of hills, and you can imagine me dragging the bike up and down the curvy roads. This service centre is close to my house and reliable one. The service guy informed that head, valve along with compressor might have gone bad due to bad petrol use. Now thats a warm welcome to pune! 3. went back to get my car from parking lot. As i had the keys, I thanked god that i didnt have to face my wife at home :) 4. Just yesterday night had bought lemonade bottle and kept in car. i was so thirsty after the workout, that the lemonade tasted really chilled. Aga...

Cricket Encounters..

Was able to get time to play on sunday. Prasad had informed that a match with BTM team is scheduled. But they didnt turn up. As we had 11 players, we opted for practice and then play match amongst us. as usual harsha picked me in his side. prasad won the toss and chose to bat. abdul started the first over for us. he bowls pretty tidily and was in full form. the second over was more interesting. i think we were short of bowlers and harsha made right decision to pair a week bowler with strike bowler. so abdbul and me were strike bowlers wereas kiran and gosh were the support bowlers. Surprisible kiran was the bowler of the day picking all the wickets. in his very first over, kiran got rid of dangerous prashant. then in the same over he picked up another wicket. Abdul bowled the third over , giving away few runs. Now maruti and rama were batting. both are hard hitting guys. again kiran struck twice in same over to get maruti caught at long on by lavesh and uprooted middle stick ...

Metro in pune

Metro in pune (28th Jan 2010) Now officially the govt has given the green signal to this project. As everyone knows, this decision was delayed quite a few times and god knows when it all had started. I find one thing that is common between these projects from pune and bangalore. These projects were approved once the land/flat prices  had reached there peak values. bangalore real estate prices were already were at its peak then and people thought it will bubble down. then came the metro and surely it helped push the prices upwards. So i am trying to understand the bigger picture. Did these cities had congestion problems earlier- yes. Did these cities had high real estate growth earlier- yes Did these cities had heavy migrant population leading to influx of lot of people- yes. Did these cities expanded like crazy- yes. The last one is really the one thing i consider to be the reason behind this. Both these cities expanded in residential boundaries. say now people are ...

Merry Christmas

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas. Today (23rd Dec,2009) we had a memorable christmas party. Along with office-colleagues, I went to the mobile creche   at niyati groups project in tikare nagar. This is on the way towards vishrantwadi. There was this huge housing project and the creche was on ground floor of 4th building. Thanks to the builders and the volunteers for setting up this facility. Surprisingly the place was well decorated,  had lots of sunlight and of course lots of kids. The entrance had a very cute paintaing of "bal hanuman". Many cute looking paintaings were hung on the walls of the room. The pillars were decorated with ribbons and balloons. The mud-crafts done by some kids was nicely put up in one corner of the room. Two parallel metal beams were placed at a little height above ground alongside one wall. These were used to hold beds for very small kids who were happily asleep amid all this noise. I didnt check out the whole room, but ins...
