Cricket Encounters..

We played our last league match of 20-20 cup against ITC.
ITC won the toss and elected to bat first. Anyway we were short on in-form batsmen as they were not available on weekend. ITC made around 150 , thanks to inconsistent bowling. i did bowl couple of good overs but gave away some 32 runs in 4 overs.
In first over of mine, i had bowled one bad ball on leg side and as keeper was close to wicket missed it and went for four. the very ball, had bowled an incutter which landed perfectly just outside off stump but passed very close by to leg stump at the same time keeping low. keeper missed it and voila that was another 4 runs in byes.
got couple of wickets for same incutter ball. nowadays i am trying more of the incutter as i am getting good inswing. normally my strength is outswingers and legcutters.
and one good thing that happened to me that i cant forget for long time is that, finally i was able finish off one super catch standing at mid-wicket. thanks to jhenkar the bowler. i was in real need of this one to boost my confidence as had been missing catches in all the matches.
our batting just flopped as ITC was bowling a good line. bowlers did a very fine job and finally i got a chance to bat out last 2 overs. shared last 2 wicket stand with mukund and praveen. another tourney ended on bad note!
Lets see what i can do better the next time. My goal now is to be consistent in all matches and bowl with economy of not more than 5. if given chance, prove myself as a batsman too...
till then keep watching..

First Goa Trip!

After a very long time, we decided to visit goa. The rainy season didnt hinder us and we were all set to go. Booked the dona sylvia resort for a stay of 3 nights and 4 days. This resort in mobor-margoa in south goa. Opted for 2nd-5th July as I had optional holiday on 5th july. We planned to take the pune-kolhapur-nipani-amboli-sawantwadi-panji-margao route. Pre-week situation: Our trustworthy 2 year old wagonR was running into lot of deep water. Had AC failure, non-functioning horn, frequent typre punctures and wipers out of shape. We did try the local MASS in baner, but it was of no good.  All these issues had to be sorted out before the travel. So was looking out for some MASS on par with Bimal of bangalore. One of my relative suggested the chougule MASS near katraj.  Dropped the car on tuesday and got it on back in wednesday with all the problems rectified. Went there personally to check the service center and it turned out to be very good. Now my wife, manisha informed...

Bengaluru Again!

Moved to Bengaluru from Pune in  July. Its was a tough situation to travel in this covid19 pandemic. Fortunately we moved with ease. We stayed in Pune for close to 10 years and made several friends. Hopefully I should be able to keep in touch with them. At the same time, looking forward to meet my pals here!

Metro in pune

Metro in pune (28th Jan 2010) Now officially the govt has given the green signal to this project. As everyone knows, this decision was delayed quite a few times and god knows when it all had started. I find one thing that is common between these projects from pune and bangalore. These projects were approved once the land/flat prices  had reached there peak values. bangalore real estate prices were already were at its peak then and people thought it will bubble down. then came the metro and surely it helped push the prices upwards. So i am trying to understand the bigger picture. Did these cities had congestion problems earlier- yes. Did these cities had high real estate growth earlier- yes Did these cities had heavy migrant population leading to influx of lot of people- yes. Did these cities expanded like crazy- yes. The last one is really the one thing i consider to be the reason behind this. Both these cities expanded in residential boundaries. say now people are ...
